Zerozaki - Volume 1 Additional Material, also some housekeeping

I made an order for Zerozaki and Witchcraft Works from CDJapan recently- I thought I'd share some of the postcards with you guys:

These are compressed (and tilted upon closer inspection), I re-scanned them at a higher DPI and saved them as BMP's here. 

Looking at some of the links in my earlier posts, I noticed they were down. I've taken the liberty of making a mediafire folder to host both WCW and Zerozaki for the time being. I doubt I will run into bandwidth problems but I will deal with that somehow if/when it happens.

I've decided to "pick this up" as I don't have quite enough motivation to fully translate one of Nishio Ishin's novels. I also haven't read the novels for this series, and I'd like to share in my first time experiencing it. Obviously it's a departure from the work I normally post here, but I think it's interesting enough that everyone should take a look at this and the first chapter that should follow shortly.

Zerozaki Soushiki's Humanity Test/零崎双識の人間試験


Hitoshiki's older brother, master of the giant scissors, discovers a just awakened Zerozaki -- a 17 year old girl named Mutou Iori. Before he can convince her that his offer to make her his sister is not creepy and sinister, she gets mixed up in a bloody conflict with a pair of furious killers out to revenge their sister's death.


I don't have any committed parties to help with this series at the moment- if you're interested and you can clean/TS/etc. please drop me a line if possible. Regardless, I will try to seek out heads that can help bring this series to all you readers.

 I just tried downloading from mediafire myself and it seems to be fine, but if there are any problems with the above links please let me know in the comments. I'll eventually find a better way to host these various files.

WCW 11, 10v2 SL

 Shoutouts to the typesetter and cleaner. I've looked over the finished product, and everything seems fine from a single read.

Last chapter of the year is scripted, cleaned (thanks to an anon in the translation thread), and currently shipped off to the typesetter of chapter 10. There should be a thread in the very near future for the SL dump from which I will try to pull the link for the completed product.

has passed first TL, but I'm not comfortable at all with releasing this one yet, so I'm going to look at things for a while before sending it off to WOW!Scans. I think part of it has to do with the chapter  itself being a bit jumbled, but who am I to criticize?

Does anyone know if there's a magazine version of 54 that can be compared to the bound chapter? I don't even know what to make of this series anymore, I've read the chapter 3 times over and it's just mind-boggling in quite a few ways...

This was a fairly smooth process as far as releases go, and I'm glad it turned out fine with no problems. Credit goes to the TS-er (currently anonymous); I know that many people wouldn't be able to enjoy these series otherwise.

I included the older chapters I did for preservation's sake, since WCW 07 was how I started doing this whole thing in earnest. I guess I did TL 1 or 2 Hoozuki chapters before that, but that thread ended up with me starting Usagi Drop as well. It's always nice to track progress now that I have the necessary framework to do so. Enjoy, and support Animexis when they release the real HQ stuff.

Unlikely, but if you found your way here

by way of /a/ collective scanlation, some information to quell at least a bit of the unrest:

1. Tomacata and I are two different people. Some of the confusion that led up to this was most likely my unwillingness to adopt a tripcode until things were getting out of hand. I TL'ed Usagi Drop 36-50 (whichever was the last one out) with him, but for reasons that should be obvious on his site by now he chose to stop working on the series. As some people have said, I'm not the greatest fan of the series, but that isn't a factor in the work going on.

2. I am planning/ have planned to do the rest of Usagi Drop (at least the main storyline, if someone provides the other stuff I don't mind either), but raws are being provided by WOW!Scans rather than out there on the various channels of online distribution. Monthly scans have not been available, probably due to lack of interest? I will update this blog and the twitter for what it's worth, if you'd like to drop in while I'm translating.

3. WOW!Scans has graciously offered to post-TL the rest of the series, and I think this is most beneficial for the audience out there. If someone else wants to release faster scans, s/he should take it up with them personally. I personally don't have a problem with different releases trading off speed and quality, but I also don't read them so take that as you may. They will most likely post scans on their site, so I don't see any need to divert traffic from them.
Update: After talking to WOW!Scans, they have said they plan to do a timely release of the remaining chapters, and kindly request that other individuals/groups not try to release their own SLs.


I've probably said too much already, but I've been seeing a lot of these questions over and over. Hopefully this deals with the most important ones. Feel free to ask me if you have any others.

I will try to grab the archive when I see it tomorrow, or if a kind soul would comment back with the link, I'd appreciate it. If interest is there, I can package it but that thread is pretty clean from what I see.

Since this is the first official TL I'm trying to post, I suppose some disclaimer is in order. Anyone who sees this, feel free to use my scripts as you see fit. It'd be nice to receive credit, but I don't care too much. Use some common sense is all I can ask.

False Starts

Tried to start My Girl 22, found out a release had been posted a few hours prior to starting. I guess it's good I got bogged down trying to transcribe the dialogue. Started My Girl 23 and stopped again, will wait to see what's up with StorminHeaven? Apologies to anyone who was hoping for something substantial, but restarts have to start somewhere.
